A nation was born, but how long will she survive?

July 4th, 1776 – a nation was born. Her name is America. July 4th, 2017, will be her 241st birthday. Happy Birthday, America! You have come far. The battle for independence that gave birth to America was costly: 7,200 Americans were killed during battle - 8,200 were wounded - 10,000 died from disease and exposure (approximately 3,000 at Valley Forge) - an additional 6,500 died in prison, after being captured and 1,400 soldiers were listed as missing.

Of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence, 5 were captured by the British and tortured, before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons in the Revolutionary Army. Another two sons were captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died in the war. The cost was high, but the war was won.

It was Dick Cheney, 46th Vice President of the United States, who stated: “It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.” Will we preserve our liberty – or will our great nation be destroyed from within? Our nation was founded on the principles of God and intended to be a Christian nation. Yet many of our liberties have been taken from us. More and more God is being removed from our culture. More and more Satan is getting control and having his way in the United States of America.

What can we do? It is time for ever American who professes to be a Christian to stand up and be counted! It is time for the silent majority to be heard! It is time for us to pray! It is time for us to seek God! It is time for national repentance! Repent, America, before it is too late.                                                                                                                                            --Carroll Sites
