No One Can Worship for You

No One Can Worship for You

No one can worship for you! Have you thought about that? What is worship about? What is really involved in our worship of God?

Have you noticed that we do not have any "special group? in our worship? Visitors wonder about our worship at times and ask questions. We have no choirs; no choruses or solos being sung. There are no bands playing or drums pounding. Why? Do you know? While it is true the primary reason is there is no authorization for it under the New Covenant, a secondary reason is the command to worship is individual. Keeping these things out of worship means there is nothing to distract you or keep you from being involved! No one can sing your songs, pray your prayers, give your thanks and receive the word of God by faith but you! No one can worship for you!!

Worship is your heart of faith ascending up to the Lord. Ture, it results in edification for the rest of the body, but it is your worship and no one can worship for you! When we gather together to sing, pray, read and give, we are each one individually participating as we are led in worship. This is what makes up corporate worship. No one can worship for you!

Too many have their ideas and images of what worship is from outside sources. Some may want to follow their ideas of worship from their past before coming to the truth and being set free by the truth. Many come from a past where the individual was a spectator rather than a participant full of faith. There is no joy, no drawing near when one sits smacking on gum watching others worship. When our hearts are engaging with the Lord, others around realize what God means to us and that builds them up. When God means something to us individually, worship from our heart will take place. No one can worship for you!

When you fail to worship from your heart, there will be no one more disappointed and/or bored with God's assembly than you. You came with nothing from your heart and you will leave the body of Jesus with nothing in your heart. Week after week it gets more difficult to assemble with the saved because there is little offered from your faith. No one can worship for you and your worship speaks of your knowledge of God.
