How Do I “Pray Without Ceasing”?

How Do I “Pray Without Ceasing”?

1st Thessalonians 5:17

The Bible is its best interpreter. Consider the following two passages: Romans 12:12, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” and Colossians 4:2 “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” All of these passages are teaching the same thing. Prayer to God the Father is essential for the Christian. Jesus actually told the disciples in a parable “to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.” Luke 18.1.

Think of a small child that has a father that loves them. They can trust their father to help them, to care for them, and to always have their best interest at heart. When facing difficulty this father would always be there for the child. With that in mind, we can know that God will always keep our best interest before Him. Just as parents sometimes makes decisions that their children do not understand, sometimes our Father makes decisions that we do not understand, but he always does what is in His child’s best interest.
